IPL Photo Rejuvenation |
||
|
IPL Photo Rejuvenation is a treatment that uses Intense Pulsed Light
to improve skin conditions. It is a gentle procedure that improves
skin conditions such as rosacea, vascular redness, flushing, large
pores, broken capillaries, skin tone and texture, sun damage, age spots and hyperpigmentation.
IPL Photo Rejuvenation is also used regularly as preventive and ongoing maintenance treatment for
common signs of aging.
Other skin issues that can be improved are mild acne scars and dark circles around the eyes.
This treatment is extremely effective for improving the appearance of
skin all over the body, including the face, neck, chest, arms and hands.
S How the Process Works Light based skin rejuvenation treatments work by converting light energy from the IPL. In essence, a broad spectrum of light is sent to the lower layers of the epidermis. The energy heats the area to be treated, stimulating the formation of collagen and elastin. The light that penetrates through the epidermis is absorbed by the dilated vessels that have been heated without damaging the skin. In turn skin is tightened, pigmentation is lightened, telagectasias is reduced. After several treatments patients see improvement in over-all skin tone, texture and appearance. Treatment Course IPL Photo Rejuvenation treatments can be delivered as frequently as every two to four weeks. Typically, a successful course of treatment will take three to eight sessions. Patients may follow-up treatments once every six months to once a year to maintain desired results. A patient's lifestyle and exposure to the sun plays a role in determining treatment frequency. Range of Treatments IPL Photofacial Rejuvenation can treat a wide variety of skin issues such as:
What can I expect during a typical treatment session? Treatment sessions usually take less than twenty minutes and most patients, based on their condition, will require anywhere from three to eight treatments. Treatments are scheduled about four weeks apart. Patients who have IPL Photofacials experience a very low level of discomfort. Treatment is fairly simple, first, the areat to be treated is cleansed and a cool gel is applied. A pulse of light is then delivered and the patient experiences a sensation that is similar to the snap of a rubber band. Immediately after treatment the patient's skin may feel warm. Their skin may also appear pink, much like a sunburn. On occasion, if it is an aggressive treatment session, a patient may have some swelling, bruising and possibly blistering. In most instances, patients can return to work immediately. Over the course of IPL Photofacial Rejuvenation treatment sessions, patients will experience more improvement in their skin after each treatment. Sun Exposure Post Treatment Patients should stay out of the sun from at least 14 to 21 days before and after IPL treatments.
